Dayy 3!
We took so many pictures today that I don’t think I’ll ever question what I look like to other people again.
I’m just going to list all the things we did today right off the bat to kill the suspense 😵

Today was a sunny day- but the wind was bitter. Like a kick in the face. But the day was still fun :) We waved to Lady Liberty and tried to take a bunch of selfies with her. I couldn’t stop singing that song from Miss Congeniality. "she's beauty and she's grace - she's Miss United States"
We (I) got a little goofy on the ferry. And I didn’t giggle to myself about fairies even once.

After riding the ferry back and forth we caught the subway to Central Park and spent most of our day there. As we frolicked amoung the tourists and the fountains we crowned Haley 'Princess Belvedere' after the frivolous and under-construction Belvedere castle . And though her status was folly- she played the part like a true royal. I’m sure no one suspected we three educate the rising generation for a living.
Because we were prepping to spend the night focusing on Dear Evan Hansen we decided to have an early dinner. We didn't make it all the way through the park- but starting on the south end I would say we explored like 65% of it. Maybe 68% if I'm being genorous. It's huge! The mall is the coolest place to see in my opinion. Though we made stops by a boat racing reservoir- beautiful bridges - the 'fake' Friends fountain (people think it's the spot where the theme song to Friends was made... but it's not) - Shakespeare's garden and MORE. All for $9.99! Jk it was free. Parks are free.
After exploring the park Haley led us to this place- a secret burger joint- called Burger Joint aptly enough. It’s a hidden restaurant down a hall and behind a curtain in this random hotel lobby near Central Park. It was really good. I shared a vanilla milkshake with Maren and it was most delightful!
So I made a mental note to remember the brand name of the ice cream they used in hopes of reproducing said milkshake. The milkshake masterpiece. Alas I've already forgotten the name. My memory's going! (Going away that is) it was something similar to 'Bluebunny' or 'Bluebell' and the sign said it was organic.

After Linner / dunch we went home to put on our classiest dresses (from our suitcases) and head to the theatre. 🎭I really hope you read theater in a pretentious voice because that was how it was intended to be read. You’ve probably already guessed by now what I will say about the play... but DEAR EVAN HANSEN was AmAZinG. Tears were shed (again). Such a good musical. Played on some of humanity's deepest fears. I loved that both of the plays we saw focused a little more deeply on family relationships rather than just a cute story. Don't get me wrong- I love cute stories- but they don't often make me cry.
After the musical we went to Juniors to buy cheesecake. I feel a little guilty because I keep getting cheesecake but none of it’s New York-style cheesecake.
BUT guess who I saw at Juniors?! Some of my students! They were coming out of WAITRESS and they ran up to me and said hello! Awwww I love those guys. I knew they were going to be in New York for a school trip- but what are the chances I would see them? As the ones who saw me told the others I definitely felt like a celebrity they were yelling my name down the street. Teaching's the best. And after such a good play- my heart was full of joy. ❤️❤️

After we arrived back at our hotel we sat around the table and tried each other’s cheesecake. Beautiful ending to a beautiful day!
